2.2.1 Agritourism Impact Theory
Agritourism is a subset of the larger tourism sector that involves tourists participating in farm-relatedactivities.Understanding locals’perspectives is essential for sustainable growth as well as beneficialresults as this business grows.A complex interaction of social,cultural,environmental,and economicissues is shown by analyzing the development of residents’attitudes towards agritourism.A frameworkcalled agritourism impact theory aims to comprehend the complex relationships that agritourism has withregional economies,people,and environment.Because it offers insightful information about the widerconsequences of agritourism development and its ability to propel socio-economic transformation indeveloping economies,this theory is extremely pertinent to research on agritourism[6].Through athorough examination of the literature,scholars have developed a comprehensive knowledge of theimpact of agritourism,recognizing its role in promoting economic growth and diversifying farmingcompanies[34].Additionally,research has investigated ways to expand agritourism sustainably,highlighting how it can improve rural livelihoods while protecting natural.

This study adopted a case study research design rooted in only quantitative research method.Sourcesof data included both primary and secondary data for several variables.Primary data was obtaineddirectly from the respondents(residents)while secondary data was through review of literature frombooks,journals,and the internet.The quantitative research method entailed a survey conducted on 350participants where structured questionnaires were administered.The study collected data from residentswhich were processed to present the situation of the study on the socio-economic impact of sightseeingfarms on residents in less developed tropical countries,taking Mampong Akuapim as example.
